He Oranga mo Nga Uri Tuku Iho Trust is a charitable trust leading and supporting initiatives in the Ruatorea area.  We have a particular focus on the Waiapu River catchment and retain a keen interest on kaupapa throughout the wider rohe (region) of Te Tairawhiti (East Coast, Aotearoa, NZ).

We are a collective of members who whakapapa (affiliate) to Ngati Porou, an iwi (tribe) in Te Tairawhiti.  We are committed to sustainable hapu (sub-tribe) development, the preservation and use of matauranga Maori (traditional and contemporary Maori knowledge), and advancing rangatahi (youth) education and participation.

Kaitiekitanga (stewardship, guardianship, custodianship) is the key means of advancing these kaupapa.

This website provides information on the activities of He Oranga Trust and access to resources collected and developed through Trust projects.

He takoha tenei ma tatau e pirangi ana ki te whakahaere, kia tutuki pai ai hoki i nga kaupapa oranga mo tatau.
